About Darleen Prem
I am a Commercial Photographer with decades of experience in shooting families, landscapes, events, photojournalism and portraits. You can catch me out and around Woodstock whenever there is an event as I currently am the Official Photographer for the City of Woodstock. I spent 8 years providing monthly content for Around Woodstock & Around Canton magazines. I currently provide content for Family Life Publications. You can find my work displayed in various commercial businesses such as Applebees at the Shoppes of Atlanta, City buildings and local businesses. I hold national awards for my work, and have had my work featured in national publications.
On a personal note, I am a photography junkie. My dad taught me my art as he was a photographer in the Navy during the Korean War. It is both my hobby and my career. My studio recently moved from Downtown Woodstock to Main Street and Hwy 92. When I am not working, I am still taking pictures. I enjoy volunteering my time to shoot local events for charity and chasing my chickens and dog around with my camera. Life is built on memories and what better memories than pictures! I look forward to sharing with you all the knowledge I have built over the years. My learning curve was on film. Today you can just erase yours, but it doesn't mean you shouldn't learn to take great pictures! Hope to see you soon!

This is a (3 hours) hands on workshop meant to teach you the basics of composition and lighting, using the creative controls so you can take better outdoor portraits. This class is open to photographers and anyone wanting to learn how to utilize outdoor light. You will learn about shutter speed, ISO and aperture by USING your camera, not watching a power point. In this workshop we will explore the outdoors shooting in various lighting conditions using only available light. The best way to learn is with a professional by your side. This workshop is limited to 10 people. After the workshop you will be given a lesson that you can later submit for further review by me for additional help. The goal of this class is so you can photograph your family, kids, landscapes and events using the features your camera has to offer. Bring your camera and instruction book.
